As I mentioned before, this year is all about shooting and building upon my portfolio. That includes all types of photography. I recently had the pleasure of working with some beautiful ladies for some boudoir shoots. I experimented with off-camera flash, as well as natural lighting. I personally like natural lighting better, but it is always important to understand off camera flash as well.
To kick off my first boudoir session of the year, I picked the Lorien Spa Hotel in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. What a treat! I did some research on the design and interior of several hotels within the area, and immediately fell in love with their style. I loved simplicity of the interior, the crisp whites and soft color in their rooms.
Boudoir is not an easy type of photography. You have to gain your client's trust as well as make them feel comfortable. You want to set the mood so they feel sexy, beautiful, and confident. It takes time and patience and a lot of direction. Here are a few anonymous shots of the ladies I worked with.
